Different Abilities Advocacy LLC

Advocating for our children is giving them a voice in a world where they might not always be heard

Did you know a student with a disability is entitled to a free appropriate public education (FAPE) under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act?

Unfortunately, sometimes families and school districts disagree on what services and educational program a child should have. If meetings with your schools child study team, child’s teacher or child’s caseworker are unsuccessful, you may need to think about hiring a special education advocate to help and support you.

A special education advocate can help a family in different ways

Whether it is to just provide record review or parent training, or participate in communications and meetings with the family and the school district to make sure the parents and child’s rights are be adhered to. If Different Abilities Advocacy is not the right fit for your family, Lauren is happy to give other recommendations so that no family ever feels alone in the complicated and sometimes confusing IEP (Individual Education Plan) process
